World War I
Maurice enlisted in the South Lancashire regiment on the 7th February 1916 at age 23 years and and was discharged on 29 October 1918. He was a private and his regimental number was 202386. He served in France and was wounded (shot in the shoulder) on 17 June 1917
Maurice entitled to receive the War badge. This badge was given to service personnel who had been honourably discharged due to wounds or sickness from military service. It mentions here that Maurice served overseas. He was shot in the left shoulder causing permanent damage to his arm
Maurice's World War 1 pension details. He appears to have been shot in the left shoulder damaging his arm, on 17 June 1917, resulting in a 30% disability
