Stanley Simeon Newman (1925 - 2017)

Stanley Simeon Newman, also known as Shalom Newman, is the husband of  Muriel Glynn, who is the daughter of Isidore Glynn, born Itzchok Glembofsky, the brother-in-law of Esther Reizel Levin, my 2x great aunt. Glynn family HERE

Parents: Horace Horatio (Hyman) Newman (1902 - 1966) and Rebecca Beatrice Greenstein (1897 - 1945)

Occupation: An academic with a PhD. In 1954 he is listed as being a junior executive with the American Zionist Council and also a lecturer at the London School of Economic. His occupation is listed in a 1959 passenger list as a writer

Stanley Kaplan (Copley) (1925 - 2013)

Stanley Kaplan, is the husband of Sylvia Abrahamson, a sister of Dorothy Sophia Abrahamson, the 2nd wife of my maternal grandfather Marcus Levin. Abrahamson family HERE. Born Stanley Kaplan, he changed his name to Stanley Copley sometime between 1949 - 1951

Parents: Morris Kaplan (1902 - 1967) and Leah Phillips (1895 - 1971)

Nadia Pinnick (1925 - 2016)

Nadia Pinnick, is the 2nd wife of Malcolm Denis Caplan, whose 1st wife, Jean Hilary Winroope, is my maternal 4th cousin 1x removed. Rosenberg family tree Here

Kirkella Bridegroom

The wedding took place at the Singer's-hill Synagogue, Birmingham, of Sgt. Aubrey Sadofsky, Royal Signals, elder son of Mr and Mrs D. Sadofsky, of Davington, Westella-rd., Kirkella, and Miss Nadia Pinnick, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs B. Pinnick, of 16, Hampton-court, George-rd., Birmingham.

The choral service was conducted by the Rev A. Cohen, assisted by the Rev David Hirsch, of the Hull Western Synagogue.

The bride wore a tailored suit of off-white with a head- dress of lovebirds and net, and carried a posy of lilies of the valley. Her only attendant was Miss Nesta Sadofsky (sister of the bridegroom), who wore an ice-blue suit with brown accessories. The best man was Cpl. Harry Obrart, R.A.F., of London.

After a reception, the young couple left for St. Annes-on- Sea, where the honeymoon is being spent. (Daily Mail [Hull] 16 September 1944

Jean Hilary Winroope (1925 - 1984)
