Leah Morris (1921 - 2011)

Leah Morris, known as Lee, is the niece of Rachel Levin, my 2x great aunt. Morris family tree HERE

Occupation: Before her marriage Lee was a Bookkeeper

Marriage: Sidney William Loewenson, known as Sonny, on 5 December 1954 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Lee was 33  and Sidney 38

Their first child was born in 1955 when Sidney was 39 and Lee 33 years old. Their second and last child was born in 1957 when Sidney was 41 and Lee 36 years old

Lee was the secretary of the Harare Hebrew Congregation in 1992 and 1993

Death
5 February 2011 in Harare, Zimbabwe age 89. She is buried in the Warren Hills Cemetery in Harare, Zimbabwe

Tombstone for Lee. "Here lies Leah Loewenson. Born 07.11.21 Died 05.02.11.  A woman of spirit, humour and compassion much loved by her family. May her soul be bound in the bond of eternal life."

The Hebrew text is very garbled, appearing to be a Hebrew translation of the English inscription. It works out approximately as follows:
פנ רבקה לאה לוונסאן - Here is buried Rivka Leah Loewenson
אשה מליאת רוח הומור וחמלה - A woman filled with spirit, humor and compassion
אהובה על כל משפחתה - Beloved by her entire family
ת. נ. צ. ב. ה. - May her soul be bound in the bind of the living

Residence
In 1968 Sidney and Lee are living at 11 Laurie Road, Milton Park, Salisbury, Rhodesia
