Solomon Freedman (1891 - 1957)

Solomon Freedman, (named Samuel Freedman in his father's naturalization and the 1901 and 1911 census), is the father of Harry Freedman, who was married to Gertrude Esther Levin, my maternal great aunt. Levin family HEREFreedman family HERE

Solomon (Samuel) along with his family was naturalised in February 1895. The family was living at 87 Netherfield Road, South Liverpool and the family comprised his father Harris, born in Yidvavna, Poland and four children residing with him - Rachel age 9, Hiram Davies (David) age 7, Samuel (Solomon) age 2 and Rosie age 1 year. The house has 7 rooms


1921
Solomon is now married and living at 6 Guelph Street, Liverpool, a 4 bedroom house. Solomon, is age 29, a cabinet maker working on his own account at 96 Islington. His wife Regina is age 32 and their child Harry is 2 years and 9 months old



1939 Register
In the 1939 register Solomon and his family are living at 66 Heathfield Road, Liverpool, England. Solomon is a furniture dealer and their son Harry is articled to a firm of estate agents. The redacted line under Harry is that of his brother, Melville Freedman who was born in 1927 and was an actor in the theatre


Death
21 August 1957 in Liverpool, England at 65 years of age. Buried in the Rice Lane Cemetery, Liverpool, England, plot no B22.09.

Solomon (Samuel) Freedman Probate dated 27 September 1957. His address is given as 53 Preston New road, Southport and 101 Dale street, Liverpool, England. He died at the Infirmary in Southport. The value of his estate was £70,457 2s 1d and it was left to his widow Regina Freedman and Maurice Learoyd, solicitor
